A team is a group of users. Teams decide which parts of Clockwork CRM their members can access, and
set who approves their holiday requests. Records such as opportunities, projects, mailing lists,
templates, forms, landing pages and knowledge base articles can also be shared with a team.

**Administrator Tools → Teams** lists your teams, with the **Last Modified** date, **Last Modified By**
and **Created By** for each.

| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Add Team** | Opens the team form |
| **Bulk Delete** | Deletes the teams you have ticked |
| **Search for teams...** | Filters the list by name as you type |

The actions on a team's row are **Manage Permissions**, **Edit** and **Delete**. Double-clicking a row
also opens it for editing.

## The Everyone team

Every Clockwork CRM has an **Everyone** team. Every user always belongs to it, including users added
later.

You cannot rename or delete the Everyone team, or change its members. You can set its line managers and
its permissions.

## Adding a team

**Add Team** opens the team form.

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Team Name** | The team's name. Required |
| **Users in team** | The team's members. Search for a user and select them to add them |
| **Line managers** | The users who approve holiday requests from the team's members, and are shown as their managers. A team used only for permissions can be left without any |

Select **Save** to create the team. A new team has no permissions until you give it some.

A user can be in more than one team.

## Line managers

A user's line managers are the line managers of every team they are in, including the Everyone team.
Line managers of the Everyone team are line managers of every user. A line manager is never their own
line manager.

Line managers see their team members' holiday requests on the **Approvals** tab. See
[Holidays and absences](https://help.clockworkcrm.com/general/holidays).

## Permissions

Permissions decide which parts of Clockwork CRM a team's members can open. A user can use a part of
Clockwork CRM when at least one of their teams has permission for it. Parts a user has no permission
for do not appear in their menu, and they cannot open them.

This applies to administrators as well. Administrators always have **Administrator Tools**, but they
need team permissions for the rest of Clockwork CRM like any other user.

### Setting a team's permissions

1. Open the actions on the team's row and select **Manage Permissions**.
2. Expand a section, such as **Contacts** or **Marketing**, to see its permissions. Each permission is a
page or feature in that part of the menu. Hover over one to see its description.
3. Select a permission to turn it on or off. The tick box on a section's heading turns every permission
   in it on or off.
4. Select **Save**.

The list does not include **Administrator Tools**, which only administrators can use, or the dashboard,
which every user can open.

When you install a plugin, the Everyone team is given permission to the plugin's pages. See
[Plugins](https://help.clockworkcrm.com/admin/plugins).

## Editing and deleting a team

To edit a team, open the actions on its row and select **Edit**. For the Everyone team, the form shows
only **Line managers**.

To delete a team, open the actions on its row and select **Delete**, then confirm. To delete several,
tick them and select **Bulk Delete**. The Everyone team cannot be deleted.
