**General → Dashboard** is your own dashboard of tiles. Each user has their own tiles, and nobody
else sees or changes them.

## Before you add a tile

Until you add a tile of your own, the dashboard shows welcome tiles. They give pointers on the **Apps**
menu, the file browser, adding a user, Spotlight search, adding a tile and managing your
subscription. When you move the mouse over some of them, a line points to the matching button in the
sidebar or to **Add New Tile**.

The welcome tiles go away as soon as you add your first tile, and come back if you delete them all.

## The tiles you can add

**Add New Tile**, at the top right, offers the tiles you can add.

| Tile | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Person Subscription Tile** | The latest emails, calendar entries and notes for one person, newest first |
| **Company Subscription Tile** | The latest emails, calendar entries and notes for one company, newest first |
| **Email Subscription Tile** | The latest emails in your own linked email accounts |
| **Calendar Subscription Tile** | Your upcoming calendar entries in the next seven days |
| **Note Tile** | Formatted text that you write |

### Person and company subscription tiles

A subscription tile follows one person or one company.

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Tile Name** | The tile's heading. Required |
| **Tile Description** | A line shown under the heading |
| **Latest items to show** | How many items the tile lists, from 1 to 10. Required |
| **People** or **Companies** | The person or company the tile follows. Required |

**Save** stays greyed out until you choose a person or company.

The tile lists emails, calendar entries and notes together, newest first:

- For a person: emails linked to the person, calendar entries the person is linked to, and the
  person's notes.
- For a company: emails linked to the company or to its people, calendar entries linked to the
  company, and the company's notes.

Private emails in other users' accounts are not shown. The tile shows the person's or company's
picture beside its heading.

Selecting an email opens it on the dashboard. Selecting a calendar entry opens it in the calendar in a
new tab.

### Email Subscription Tile

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Tile Name** | The tile's heading. Required |
| **Tile Description** | A line shown under the heading |
| **Latest emails to show** | How many emails the tile lists, from 1 to 10. Required |

The tile lists the newest emails in the email accounts you have linked to Clockwork CRM. Drafts, sent
emails and deleted emails are left out. Each email shows the sender, the subject, the start of the
message and when it was sent. Selecting an email opens it on the dashboard.

You need a linked email account to add this tile. Without one, the form says so and links to adding an
account. See [Email accounts](https://help.clockworkcrm.com/email/accounts).

### Calendar Subscription Tile

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Tile Name** | The tile's heading. Required |
| **Tile Description** | A line shown under the heading |
| **Upcoming calendar appointments to show** | How many entries the tile lists, from 1 to 10. Required |

The tile lists your own calendar entries that start in the next seven days, soonest first. Each entry
shows its title, its notes, its start and end time with its length, and its date. The edge of each
entry is in the entry's colour. Selecting an entry opens it in the calendar in a new tab.

### Note Tile

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Tile Name** | The tile's heading. Required |
| **Tile Description** | A line shown under the heading |
| **Note Content** | The text the tile shows. It has a text editor for formatting |

## Adding a tile

1. Select **Add New Tile**.
2. Choose the type of tile.
3. Fill in the form.
4. Select **Save**.

The new tile is added to the first column. **Cancel** goes back to the dashboard without adding it.

## Arranging your tiles

The dashboard has three columns. Drag a tile to move it up or down a column, or into another column.
The new layout is saved as soon as you drop the tile.

## Changing or deleting a tile

Each tile has two buttons at the bottom:

| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Edit** | Opens the tile's form with its current settings. **Save** keeps your changes. The tile stays where it is |
| **Delete** | Asks you to confirm, then removes the tile from your dashboard |

The tile's type cannot be changed. To change it, delete the tile and add a new one.
