A landing page is a web page you build and publish from Clockwork CRM, without needing your own
website. Pages are managed at **Marketing → Landing Pages**.

![The landing page list, with a preview of each page](https://clockworkcrm.blob.core.windows.net/public-internal/docs/marketing/landing-pages-list.png?v=2be40ee5)

## The landing page list

Each page is shown as a card with its name and whether it is **Published** or a **Draft**. Hovering
over the picture of the user on a card shows who last updated it and when. The search box filters the
cards.

The **⋮** menu on each card has:

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| **View** | Opens the live page in a new tab. Only shown when the page is published |
| **Publish** or **Unpublish** | Makes the page live, or takes it down |
| **Statistics** | Opens the page's statistics |
| **Variants** | Opens the page's A/B test variants |
| **Copy** | Makes a copy of the page |
| **Edit** | Opens the page in the editor |
| **Delete** | Deletes the page |

## Creating a landing page

1. Go to **Marketing → Landing Pages** and select **Add Landing Page**.
2. Fill in the **Name** and **Title** on the **Settings** tab.
3. Drag modules from the **Modules** tab onto the page.
4. Select **Save**.
5. Back on the list, select **Publish** from the page's menu.

## The page editor

The page editor has a panel on the left and the page itself on the right. A new page starts empty.
It works in the same way as the marketing template editor, described in
[Email templates and merge fields](https://help.clockworkcrm.com/marketing/email-templates#the-template-editor).

![The landing page editor on a new page: settings on the left, the empty page on the right](https://clockworkcrm.blob.core.windows.net/public-internal/docs/marketing/landing-page-editor.png?v=46da3b6a)

The panel has three tabs: **Settings**, **Modules** and **Merge Fields**. **Save** is at the bottom of
the panel.

### Settings

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Name** | The page's name, up to 255 characters. Only you and your colleagues see it |
| **Title** | The page title shown in the visitor's browser tab, up to 60 characters |

Below these are expandable sections:

| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| **Text Properties** | The default font, size, spacing, alignment, bold, italic, colour and margin of each text style |
| **Body Properties** | **Background Colour**, **Link Colour** and **Underline links** |
| **Container Properties** | **Container Background Colour**, **Container Width**, **Container Padding** and **Container Margin** |
| **SEO Properties** | **Meta Title**, **Meta Description** and **Meta Image**. See below |
| **Advanced** | **Header Content**: HTML added to the head of the page, such as a link to import a web font |
| **Template Permissions** | The **Users** and **Teams** who can see and work on the page. A new page starts with you and the Everyone team |

These settings work as they do for marketing templates.

**SEO Properties**:

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Meta Title** | The page's meta title. The counter shows how many of 70 characters you have used |
| **Meta Description** | The page's meta description. The counter shows how many of 160 characters you have used |
| **Meta Image** | The web address of the page's meta image. **Choose an Image...** picks one **From your computer** or **From the file browser** |

The published page includes the meta title, description and image in its HTML head.

### Modules

Drag a module onto the page to add it. When a module is selected, its settings appear under the list.

![The Modules tab of the landing page editor](https://clockworkcrm.blob.core.windows.net/public-internal/docs/marketing/landing-page-editor-modules.png?v=97eeaf80)

| Module | What it adds |
|---|---|
| **Text** | A block of text |
| **Button** | A button with a link |
| **Image** | An image, which can link somewhere |
| **Columns** | A row split into columns, to put other modules side by side |
| **Spacer** and **Divider** | Empty space, or a horizontal line |
| **Video** | A YouTube or Vimeo video |
| **Html** | Your own HTML |
| **Share** | Buttons for visitors to share the page |
| **Social** | Icons that link to your social media accounts |
| **Form** | One of your forms. See [Forms](https://help.clockworkcrm.com/marketing/forms) |
| **Item Library** | A module saved to the item library |

The **Text**, **Button**, **Image**, **Columns**, **Spacer**, **Divider** and **Social** modules have
the same settings as in marketing templates. On landing pages they also have:

- hover colours, such as **Text Hover Colour**, **Border Hover Colour** and **Button Hover Background
Colour**, used when the pointer is over the module
- **Width**, **Minimum Height** and **Margin** on columns, and a **Wrapped Auto Column Sizing** column
type with a **Gap** between columns and a **Justification** of **Start**, **Centre**, **End**,
  **Around**, **Between** or **Even**
- **Cell Padding** on columns
- **Image Fit** on images: **Fill**, **Contain**, **Cover**, **None** or **Scale Down**
- **Advanced Settings** with a **CSS Class** applied to the module

#### Video

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Video Provider** | **Youtube** or **Vimeo** |
| **Url** | The address of the video. It must match the provider |
| **Padding** and **Height** | The space around the video, and its height |

#### Html

Type or paste HTML into the code editor. Links in the HTML do not work inside the editor.

#### Share

Buttons that let visitors share the page on LinkedIn, Facebook and X (Twitter). Drag the rows to
change their order. For X, you can add the text of the post.

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Alignment** | Left, centre or right |
| **Padding** | Space inside each button: **Left**, **Top**, **Bottom** and **Right** |
| **Spacing** | Space between the buttons: **Left**, **Top**, **Bottom** and **Right** |
| **Background Colour** and **Padding** under **Section Properties** | The strip behind the buttons |

#### Form

Search for the form in **Bind Form**. The label shows **Form Bound** once a form is chosen. The module
also has **Width**, **Border**, **Section Padding** and **Alignment**. The form must be published to
work on the page.

### The item library

The item library keeps modules so you can use them again on other pages and in marketing templates.

- To save a module, select it and choose **Add to Item Library** from the bar above the page, or
right-click it. Enter a **Library Item Name** of 2 to 255 characters and select **Save**. Columns and
library items cannot be saved to the library.
- To use a saved module, drag **Item Library** onto the page, choose the item in **Choose an existing
library item**, and select **Insert as copy**.
- **Library Item Settings** renames or deletes saved items.

## Publishing a page

**Publish** makes the page live at its own web address. **View** opens it. **Unpublish** takes it
down, and the address stops working.

When a contact opens the page from a link in a bulk email or sequence, merge fields on the page are
filled in with their details, and the visit is recorded against them. Links on the page are tracked,
so clicks appear in the statistics.

## Variants and A/B testing

A variant is another version of the page, shown to some of its visitors instead of the original.
**Variants** in the page's menu opens the page's variants.

![The variants of a landing page, with Manage Splits and Add Variant](https://clockworkcrm.blob.core.windows.net/public-internal/docs/marketing/landing-page-variants.png?v=69ec6bbd)

1. Select **Add Variant**. The variant starts as a copy of the page, called "(Variant)", and opens in
   the editor.
2. Change the variant and select **Save**.
3. Back on the variants screen, select **Manage Splits**.
4. Enter the percentage of visitors each version gets. The total must be 100%.
5. Save the split.

A new variant gets 0% of visitors until you change the split. Visitors use the original page's
address. Each visitor is given one version and sees the same version when they come back.

Each variant card shows its share of traffic. The **⋮** menu on a variant has **Preview**, **Edit**,
**Statistics** and **Delete**. **Preview** shows the variant without recording a visit. **Back to
Page** returns to the original page.

## Statistics

**Statistics** opens the results for a page.

![The statistics of a landing page: views, bounce rate, links and devices](https://clockworkcrm.blob.core.windows.net/public-internal/docs/marketing/landing-page-statistics.png?v=c0ef46bc)

### Visitor Analytics

**Visitor Analytics** lists each visit, with the **Visitor**, the **Variant** they saw (or
**Original**), when they **Viewed** the page, the **Time on Page** and the **Clicks Made**. Bounced
visits are highlighted. Hover over a visitor to see the page they came from.

**Filter by** shows **All Visitors**, only those **With Clicks**, or **Long Sessions (>30s)**. **Export**
downloads the list with the filter applied.

The **...** menu on each visit has **Visitor details**, which shows the visit time, time on page,
clicks, referrer, browser and each link clicked, and **Go to person record** or **Go to company
record** when the visitor is a known contact.

### A/B Test Results

it in.
