Zapier

The Clockwork CRM app on Zapier connects Clockwork CRM to the other applications on Zapier. A trigger starts a Zap when something happens in Clockwork CRM. An action creates, changes or deletes records in Clockwork CRM. A search finds an existing record.

The Clockwork CRM app on Zapier is currently available by invitation only. To use it, contact Clockwork CRM support and ask to be invited.

Connecting Clockwork CRM

Before you connect, create an API key for Zapier:

  1. Go to Administrator Tools → API Keys and click Add API Key.
  2. Name the key, for example "Zapier", and click Save.
  3. Open the key's actions menu, click Manage Permissions, and tick the permissions your Zaps need. Triggers need Manage Webhooks in the Webhooks group. Each action and search needs the matching permission, such as Write General Person Information to create or update a person.
  4. Open View Key and copy the key.

See API keys and webhooks for the full list of permissions.

When you add a Clockwork CRM step to a Zap, Zapier asks for:

Field What it is
Clockwork CRM URL Your Clockwork CRM address, such as https://mycompany.clockworkcrm.com
API Key The key you copied

Zapier checks the key when you connect. The connection is named after your Clockwork CRM address.

Triggers

Triggers are sent to Zapier as soon as the event happens. Turning on a Zap with a Clockwork CRM trigger creates a webhook named "Zapier" in Administrator Tools → Webhooks, and turning the Zap off removes it.

Custom properties and drop-downs

The create and update actions for people, companies, opportunities, cases, services and products show your custom properties as fields. Properties with options, such as drop-downs, list those options. On a case, the properties shown are those of the chosen case type.

Other values are offered as drop-downs, so you do not need to look up an ID:

Field Offers
Type and Status on cases Your case types, and the statuses of the chosen type
Pipeline and Status on opportunities Your sale pipelines, and the statuses of the chosen pipeline
Owner and Assigned To Your users
Tags on Add Tag and Remove Tag Your tags. You can also type tag names separated by commas

The Tags fields on the create and update actions take tag names separated by commas.

Searches

A search finds an existing record, so a Zap can use it in later steps.

Search Finds by
Find Person Email, Full Name, First Name or Last Name
Find Company Name or Email
Find Sale Sale Name
Find Case Title or Case Number
Find Project Project Name
Find Service Name or Code
Find Product Name, SKU, Category Name or Manufacturer Name

A search by email matches the whole address. Every other search matches part of the value.
