Landing pages

A landing page is a web page you build and publish from Clockwork CRM, without needing your own website. Pages are managed at Marketing → Landing Pages.

The landing page list, with a preview of each page

Open in Clockwork CRMEnter your Clockwork CRM address at the top of the page to open this in your Clockwork CRM.

The landing page list

Each page is shown as a card with its name and whether it is Published or a Draft. Hovering over the picture of the user on a card shows who last updated it and when. The search box filters the cards.

The ⋮ menu on each card has:

View Opens the live page in a new tab. Only shown when the page is published
Publish or Unpublish Makes the page live, or takes it down
Statistics Opens the page's statistics
Variants Opens the page's A/B test variants
Copy Makes a copy of the page
Edit Opens the page in the editor
Delete Deletes the page

Creating a landing page

  1. Go to Marketing → Landing Pages and select Add Landing Page.
  2. Fill in the Name and Title on the Settings tab.
  3. Drag modules from the Modules tab onto the page.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Back on the list, select Publish from the page's menu.

The page editor

The page editor has a panel on the left and the page itself on the right. A new page starts empty. It works in the same way as the marketing template editor, described in Email templates and merge fields.

The landing page editor on a new page: settings on the left, the empty page on the right

The panel has three tabs: Settings, Modules and Merge Fields. Save is at the bottom of the panel.

Alignment Left, centre or right
Padding Space inside each button: Left, Top, Bottom and Right

Form

Search for the form in Bind Form. The label shows Form Bound once a form is chosen. The module also has Width, Border, Section Padding and Alignment. The form must be published to work on the page.

The item library

The item library keeps modules so you can use them again on other pages and in marketing templates.

  • To save a module, select it and choose Add to Item Library from the bar above the page, or right-click it. Enter a Library Item Name of 2 to 255 characters and select Save. Columns and library items cannot be saved to the library.
  • To use a saved module, drag Item Library onto the page, choose the item in Choose an existing library item, and select Insert as copy.
  • Library Item Settings renames or deletes saved items.

Publishing a page

Publish makes the page live at its own web address. View opens it. Unpublish takes it down, and the address stops working.

When a contact opens the page from a link in a bulk email or sequence, merge fields on the page are filled in with their details, and the visit is recorded against them. Links on the page are tracked, so clicks appear in the statistics.

Variants and A/B testing

A variant is another version of the page, shown to some of its visitors instead of the original. Variants in the page's menu opens the page's variants.

The variants of a landing page, with Manage Splits and Add Variant

  1. Select Add Variant. The variant starts as a copy of the page, called "(Variant)", and opens in the editor.
  2. Change the variant and select Save.
  3. Back on the variants screen, select Manage Splits.
  4. Enter the percentage of visitors each version gets. The total must be 100%.
  5. Save the split.

A new variant gets 0% of visitors until you change the split. Visitors use the original page's address. Each visitor is given one version and sees the same version when they come back.

Each variant card shows its share of traffic. The ⋮ menu on a variant has Preview, Edit, Statistics and Delete. Preview shows the variant without recording a visit. Back to Page returns to the original page.
