Notifications
Clockwork CRM notifies you about things that involve you, such as a colleague adding you to a meeting, a case you follow being updated, or a customer booking an appointment with you.
Open in Clockwork CRMEnter your Clockwork CRM address at the top of the page to open this in your Clockwork CRM.
Where notifications appear
A new notification reaches you in three places:
- A pop-up at the side of the page you have open. See Pop-ups.
- The bell under your name in the app drawer, which shows how many notifications are unread. Selecting the bell opens the notification feed.
- A desktop notification from your browser, when you have allowed them. See Desktop notifications.
Every notification is also kept in the notification feed until you delete it.
What you are notified about
| Notification | When you get it |
|---|---|
| Calendar Update | Another user adds you to a calendar entry, changes or removes one you attend, cancels an entry or a series, or stops attending |
| Starting Soon and Coming Up | A calendar entry you attend reaches the reminder time set on it. All-day entries say the entry is today or tomorrow |
| New Email | A new unread email arrives in one of your email accounts |
| Account Requires Re-authentication | One of your email accounts needs you to sign in to it again |
| Mailbox syncing, Mailbox synced and Mailbox sync failed | The first sync of an email account you have added starts, finishes or fails |
| Calendar syncing, Calendar synced and Calendar sync failed | The first sync of a calendar you have connected starts, finishes or fails |
| Reconnect your calendar | Your connected calendar needs reconnecting before it can sync again |
| Case Update | A case assigned to you, or one you follow and have not muted, is updated. Changes you make yourself do not notify you |
| Project Created and Project Deleted | Another user creates or deletes a project you are on, directly or through a team |
| Project Task Update | Another user updates, completes, deletes, comments on, adds a file to or logs time on a task you are assigned to or follow and have not muted |
| Mail Campaign Update | A bulk email you created, started or scheduled begins sending, is paused, completes, or stops with a Sender Error or Process Error |
| Holiday request and Cancellation request | Someone you approve for asks for time off, or asks to cancel it |
| Holiday approved, Holiday declined, Cancellation approved and Cancellation declined | A request of yours is approved or declined |
| New Booking, Booking Moved and Booking Cancelled | A customer books, moves or cancels an appointment with you |
| SMS Message Received | An SMS arrives at one of your Clockwork CRM phone numbers. Every user is notified |
| Phone Call Recorded | A call recording is ready. Every user is notified |
| Possible duplicates | A duplicate scan you started finishes, an import you ran creates possible duplicates, or a scheduled scan finds new ones and you can review duplicates |
| Export Ready | An export you asked for is ready to download from your profile. See Your profile |
| Credits Exhausted | Your Clockwork CRM runs out of email credits or automation credits. Every user is notified |
| Plugin needs upgrading | You open a plugin page and a newer version of the plugin is available |
| New Message | An administrator sends a message to every user, or there is a message about your Clockwork CRM account |
Administrators send a system message from Administrator Tools → Send Notification. The message goes to every user.
Pop-ups
A pop-up shows the notification's label and message. Up to three pop-ups show at once, and each one fades after a few seconds. Moving the mouse over a pop-up keeps it open.
Selecting a pop-up closes it and, where the notification is about an item, opens it: for example the calendar on the day of the entry, the case or the email.
When more than three notifications of the same kind arrive together, they are shown as one pop-up, for example "You have received 5 new emails."
Pop-ups only show in the browser tab you are looking at. Anything that arrives while you are in another tab shows when you come back to it.
Seeing a pop-up does not mark the notification as read.
The notification feed
General → Notification Stream opens the notification feed. The bell in the app drawer opens it too.
The top shows your Total Notifications and your Unread Notifications. Select either one to list only those notifications.
The feed lists your newest 50 notifications first. Load More adds the next 50.
Each notification shows its message and how long ago it was created. Unread notifications are marked with a strip down the side. Selecting a notification opens the item it is about, where there is one.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mark Read | Marks one notification as read. It only shows on unread notifications |
| Delete Notification | Asks you to confirm, then removes one notification |
| Mark All Read | Asks you to confirm, then marks every notification as read |
| Delete all | Asks you to confirm, then removes every notification, read or unread |
Deleted notifications cannot be brought back.
Desktop notifications
The first time you open Clockwork CRM in a browser, the browser asks whether Clockwork CRM can show notifications. Allow it to get desktop notifications in that browser.
A desktop notification is sent when a notification has not already shown as a pop-up, for example when Clockwork CRM is not open. Selecting it opens the item it is about.
Each browser you allow keeps its own desktop notifications. If you block notifications in a browser, Clockwork CRM stops sending desktop notifications to it. To turn them back on, allow notifications for your Clockwork CRM address in the browser's site settings.
